I reference this book again and again. The pictures are gorgeous and the patterns beautiful. Very inspiring! Patterns are for both China head dolls and bisque head.As the only doll doctor listed in Colorado now at dolldoctorsassociation.com, I found the patterns excellent and period authentic. Printed out and enlarged a couple already. One for a 31" tall Paper Mache doll circa 1850...one for a 12" tall China head doll also circa 1850 in the Beidermeir style. Great reference. Must have sewing experience!Great seller and price. Thanks.I especially appreciated the details of historical sewing; not just how to put a period doll costume together, but how (and why) to put it together in the same ways as the originals were. The book has also given me a new understanding of how fashions evolved through the years. A beautiful book and interesting read! I'm not interested specifically in doll clothing, but more in antique clothing of any kind. The detail in this book, as well as good illustrations of techniques was just what I was looking for.A well researched and photo illustrated book. Full of knowledge and helpful hints of how to make some of the dolls outfits shown in the photographs.Another delight. Wonderful illustrations. Detailed plate descriptions of fashions separated from the gown itself by several pages. Some history into the era. Scaled down patterns included along with instructions as to how garment would have been sewn together at the time it was made. Tricks of the trade show some ways to take bulk out of waistline, etc. A Must have for those interested in period fashion.I was very impressed not only with the color plates, but with the in depth documentation for each plate. I was given a reproduction Jumeau Bride Doll. This book also contains patterns as well as sewing instructions. It is amazing to see the amount of detail put into something I just considered a childs' toy. I don't sew but seeing the amount detail has been very educational.Missing the dust cover. No huge problem but I did expect thatThis book is a must have for those who dress antique dolls or modern dolls in historic costumes. The photos and descriptions are wonderful and all of the patterns are in the book. Great book and great seller, I received the book very fast and in good condition. This is really my type of book, just what i expected, thanks, and no delaysBeautiful book very pleased delivery as expectedThis book has all the information I need to know.
